Thanks to Divella, 40 tons of pasta were given to those most in need, with 850 stations scattered throughout Italy. It is the result of the initiative promoted last weekend by the Community of Pope John XXIII, which has returned to Italian squares with “Aggiungi un posto a tavola”, an event that has been involved with all of the charitable organizations founded by Don Oreste Benzi, with the help of thousands of local volunteers, associations and companies.
The figures of 2014 – circulated by the association (www.apg23.org) – talk about the 2,500 people engaged in different locations to raise awareness on the subject. There are 10 foreign countries that will recreate the event on the same dates: Switzerland, France, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Germany, Britain, Russia, Chile and Bolivia. The request is very simple: to help the Community to ensure a meal to people in need.
